Assessment of the Receptivity of Dengue Vector Breeding through Pre- and Post-Monsoon Vector Surveillance at Some International Airports in India

As per the International Health Regulations (2005), all airports and seaports are to be kept free from risk of infection through any pathogen transmitted by vectors, thereby resulting in public health hazard. Therefore, international premises vector breeding along with 400 perimeter areas surrounding seaports. To assess receptivity Vector i.e. Aedesaegypti (Vector for Dengue, Yellow fever, Zika Chikunguniya), entomological teams Centre Medical Entomology Control, NCDC have been undertaking surveillance activities (Pre & Post Monsoon) at POE’s some Airports Seaports. The is being done on regular basis findings shared respective authorities immediate control measures. From years 2015 2020, Dengue were carried out 10 including meters peripheral during pre- post-monsoon periods. An attempt has made describe key indices regard prevention dengue proper planning timely measures regulate airports. Such studies assessment would help local airport understanding potential habitats Aedes appropriate strategy areas.
